FAQs
When should I contact the DocuNav Shield team?
Contact the Shield team as soon as you are aware of an IT disaster that has also impacted Laserfiche. We will take it from there. You can focus on your other operational needs, we stay in the loop and keep you informed on when your system is back up. We contact you frequently to post recovery progress. Other than that, you do not have to worry: we take care of the rest of the work.
Why do you need an IT disaster recovery plan?
According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS): “An information technology disaster recovery plan (IT DRP) should be developed in conjunction with the business continuity plan. Priorities and recovery time objectives for information technology should be developed during the business impact analysis. Technology recovery strategies should be developed to restore hardware, applications and data in time to meet the needs of the business recovery.”
What should you do when there is an IT disaster?
Ideally the IT team is always prepared for any disaster, but safety first. Once safety is secured and you are in a position to get IT systems back online for critical operations, follow your IT Disaster Recovery Plan (IT DRP) to restore systems safely. Remember not to panic and follow the plan. If you do not have an IT DRP yet, see the planning resources and sample templates on the DocuNav Shield page.
